I’ve had my r1 now for over a month and was curious what is everyone’s top use case? I am trying to find the reason(s) why this Device is indispensable for me to carry around
i’m in the same boat but in batch 1. I feel like without timers calendars and easily accessible notes I just have a music player.
It’s a conversation piece if nothing else. It’s not quite ready for prime time so I doubt anyone would say it’s indispensable just yet but it’s history in the making.
I’m glad that I was one of the first to get my hands on an R1 at the launch party in NYC, but I gotta say that I don’t find myself using it that much currently.
I think it just doesn’t fit my workflow with the current abilities, but once teach mode comes out it will be a whole different ball game. The future of Rabbit looks promising and I’m excited to see what comes!
This thing has been the perfect deskside companion for me at work. I do a lot of searching up numbers in a database, and If I can explain what I am looking for it does most of the heavy lifting.
I’ve been using it with a connected bluetooth keyboard, as voice prompting in front of customers isn’t entirely professional. I’ve been able to use it pretty discretely but I would love the ability to start typing without having to manually press the ptt button.
Oh, that would be lovely. Seems like some keyboard shortcuts, would be how I would like to interact with it.
My Favorite use cases are tied.

Breaking news. I like to know what’s is going on and what I am missing. I like highlights instead of browsing the news, then asking questions about those topics.
-
Random questions. I randomly get questions in my mind and want to know more… so I can research with a button press and probe questions! LOVE IT.
-
Midjourney. I was looking for a way to easier get off my mind what I want in an image! I love R1 can kinda - do this for me. It needs work and needs more options but still Love I can do this.
For me, it’s my go to AI device, because I have ADHD, and I often don’t want to:
- Interrupt my computer workflow, which is already overly complex
- Pick up my phone, which is always flooded with notifications and very likely to distract me.
So, with that being said:
- Questions
- Music
- Magic Camera
Here’s an example. Today I was setting up a new savings account, and I wanted to know with x amount of money in that account, and an AER of y percent, what the monthly interest gain would be. I asked r1, it did the calculation, and it didn’t break my workflow by having to pull up an interest rate calculator and type a bunch of stuff in.
I agreed for sure when you stated this maybe a good Nuro-Divergent Niche device! I know I have some ADHD and ASD… What I got it for too, to keep track of my Notes, reminders and the questions randomly coming our my head and solutions I need without a huge distraction!
I’d say I’m primarily using it to track ideas when I have them in the moment while driving. I’ve asked a lot of questions and played around with the magic camera. I haven’t really been in a situation to try out Uber or DoorDash yet, but I’m hoping that’ll change next month while I travel.
My son loves to have me ask R1 to show pictures of animals and play music.
I use it for random questions, summarize books (try this give me a detailed summary of Hamlet, going Act by Act, scene by scene), weather, Magic Camera (a lot lately), writing notes to my rabbit hole, asking perplexity to write letter templates, music. However, it will become indispensable for me once reminders (and better dictation) are implemented.
I tend to use it while sat at my desk for random queries that come up while I am working. Today she helped me remember the word “gatekeeping”, define what “extant” means, give me a weather forecast and take a photo for my account on an online message board. I could have done all of these things using a different device, but just picking her up, pressing one button (for most of them) and getting an answer read to me was exactly why I wanted this device in my life. OK it can’t do as much as initially promised yet, but all those things I did in the last couple of hours were enough for me.
I cannot wait for the stated updates. Having it be a personal assistant by having reminders would be ideal.
I find the R1 is reducing my screen time, which is a big deal for me. I’ve asked it all kinds of queries, without going to my laptop, and that’s an amazing achievement already.
I use it as an alternative for AI queries that Gemini will suspiciously sensor.
I can order taco bell with it.
Welcome to the Rabbit community, Patch! Hope you enjoy the topics here.
Use case I completely forgot about!
A few weeks back I was working on a minecraft modpack, and one of the mods I added disabled item durability. I didn’t want to manually go through each mod page and find what disabled it. Disabling each mod manually was also quite the workload so instead I used vision, showing it the full modlist. It was able to read through the mod names, and point me in the right direction on what mod was disabling the durability.
A really simple case that saved me a decent chunk of time, so I could continue working on building the pack instead of hunting down the setting.
I like using the R1 as a commonplace book.
If you aren’t familiar with a commonplace book, they are generally small books which you can carry in a pocket to jot down to-dos, ideas, thoughts or other random bits of information. When you get back to your primary journal, work or your assistant, you can neatly organize the information for long term storage.
If you have trouble sleeping because of an over active mind this can be really handy to keep by your bedside. When an idea pops into your head try making note of it with a voice memo and you will find that it becomes much easier to rest.
In terms of additional features that would make this use-case even more helpful adding the ability to tag or organize the notes or memos for random access would be quite helpful. In the book “The Organized Mind” the author writes about an index card system which is similar to the commonplace book but with the benefit of random access and enhanced organization. This is because you can reorder the index cards which each have an idea or piece of information into different categories rather than relying on the linear list based on time as in the case of the commonplace book.
my top use case is the translator and the magic cam. both are really nice
