ive been working on a sleeve for my r1 over the past couple of weeks and I’ve arrived at a point where im happy with it and would like to share it with the community in detail.

The first mock I made was a simple proof of concept where i wanted to have a sleeve that would allow me to use the camera of the device while it was in the sleeve.
This was a good idea but in practice - having the sleeve with a cutout in the corner not only diminished the protection the device had but also wasn’t as practical as i thought (due to not being able to see the frame).
the case was also loose and flimsy due to a slightly large design and a thin felt.

In the second revision, I decided to use a thicker felt and keep the cutout shape on the leather but not cut the felt layer. this displays the functional area of the r1 within and maintains full coverage. it also allows for a slightly more flexible area where it would be easier to grab the device from.
This second revision was much more functional as it was snug and sturdy. preventing the device from unwantedly slipping out. (it also has a loop on the side for keychains and stuff)
overall -
I think this is a pretty rough but solid proof of concept and I’ll probably end up cutting new material and having another go at it once I get back to uni (cleaner stitches better alignment)
