When I first saw the ad for the R1, my initial reaction was, “F*, this is going to be brilliant.”** Imagine all the possibilities—I’m a producer, so right away, I thought about how this thing could change my entire workflow. The idea that I could control Ableton Live with my voice? That was a game-changer. Everything I used to do manually could now be converted into simple voice commands.
It wasn’t just me, though. Every user thought they could do something unique with the R1, applying it to their own tools and systems, making their work faster, easier, more efficient. Everyone had their own vision of how this tech could revolutionize their lives.
But here’s the reality: Rabbit Inc. hasn’t even come close to delivering on that vision. At this point, they’re not showing any sign that the R1 can do what they promised. And even when they did offer something, it’s a mess—like those apps for food delivery or ride-hailing services that barely function half the time. It just doesn’t work properly.
That’s what makes this all so disappointing. We had big dreams, but what we got was nowhere.
If Rabbit can claim that they promoted an different AI chat, but no different than any others we already use, and all they’ve done is plug into the same APIs to feed us information while slapping an R1 label on it, then they’re not giving us anything revolutionary at all. It’s smoke and mirrors—making us believe it’s their proprietary tech when, in reality, they’re just repackaging what’s already out there. They dressed it up like it was something groundbreaking, but in the end, it’s not even theirs. NOT AT THIS POINT. If all they’ve done is sell us a basic AI system under a shiny new name, then this whole thing has been a “scam” from the start.
