❓- Asked your r1 its NAME yet??

to clarify, r1’s name is one of the only things it can “remember” permanently without a recall because there is an API/tool call that writes and returns the name of r1. For non techies: basically there is a special function for the name. But I noticed in the recent months that its hard for r1 to use/write this name now. I think the team is moving away from supporting this feature but I’m not too sure. Asking the r1 for its name now doesn’t return the result of this tool call anymore, it just gives a generic answer.

Exactly… that’s why there is a misunderstanding about the R1 being capable to remember it’s user given name.

But it still acts as if it is capable of doing this.

I hope we get a better recall long term memory system. Hopefully something with embeddings that is able to search through everything semantically.

Mine used to do that as well. I miss that so much :pensive:

I named mine LISA after apple LISA which represented a huge shift in the computing landscape and I kind of figured maybe R1 represents a new shift in the computing landscape… I guess we will see.
