I bought the rabbit r1 to run businesses on it. I have too many things to do in a day and wanted the rabbit r1 to be a real assistant, checking emails, webforms and whatsapp messages. then sending the right reply when prompted.
Keeping a calendar for me of various work related tasks and payments due in or to go out. To notify me when one of my customers is overdue on payment so that I can chase them up.
With the LAM and teach mode I was going to get it to check all my websites for enquiries. Send out a response when it sees one and then add it to my calendar to follow up.
At the moment its just a fun toy for me to add notes to journal for my next thing.
I also have a second one to give away when I get the youtube channel running in the next few weeks.
It looked an interesting break from the norm and the price was worth a look - And TE being involved sealed my interest.
I like others here understood that this wasnāt going to be solid from day one.
I think as time has gone on, the amount of effort being applied in trying to stop people being interested or make the purchase has made me more interested in owning it.
A lot of it made less sense when a bunch of people who had never ordered the device were spending their time posting links to the videos.
It feels like somebody is really upset that this got to market.
I pre-ordered the r1 because of the Teach Mode. Iām coming more from the business side in different scenarios here in Europe. In the state right now, the device is useless for me. Just a toy with connections to a hand full of services I wonāt use and data breaches getting leaked.
Hopefully the things that were promised will be pushed soon. Since Teach Mode might be the No1 reason for most people (next to ānot too expensive funny AI-gadgetā), this could most likely decide if this journey will have a futureā¦
I mostly got mine for wanting to automate just about everything like Iāve seen in the demos Jessie did at CES (YouTube mostly for likes, playlists and channel management on my own personal channel for being the BIG BLOATED MESS Google has to make it!) to even macros for a few smaller repeative tasks too and just as another interesting little toy to play around with and even turn it into other things that rabbit tries so hard with trying to stop custom Android ROMs and developer options (it is still possible with the unpatchable MediaTek bootloader exploit that I wouldnāt get into too much detail on here but I have LOTS of ideas to making it a portable camera for both photos and videos, a Game Boy, for both GBA and GBC games, a soundboard (Sheepy Horn mostly!), an additional remote for my animatronic gear from The Tail Company to even a super nice nightstand clock or even when I know a bit more on how to do Android app development- a mini Roland MT-32 based on Munt or a pocket general MIDI synth on Fluidsynth if I really wanted to mess around! I honestly have LOTS of ideas for what I could do with it!) and for all the uniqueness Teenage Engineering has that really wanted me to get this. Although itās cute and very limited for what it can do for right now (itāll probably be in my box for a bit of and on!), Iām still highly optimistic for what the r1 and rabbit can become in the near future!
Honestly I bought the r1 because 1 itās cool and 2 because the basically endless possibilities. The rabbit r1 has so much potential and Iām excited to see the future of it
As an early adopter, Iām always on the lookout for the latest and greatest innovations. Here are some of my favorite features of the R1:
Translation Function: Itās phenomenal! Iāll never travel without my R1 again.
Note-Taking: I can jot down notes and easily retrieve specific information later.
Access to Perplexity and Wolfram Alpha: Having these powerful tools available on the go is a game-changer. Those who claim a smartphone can do the same likely havenāt activated the feature or know how to use it effectively.
Vision in Meetings and Presentations: Itās invaluable, especially when sitting in the front row.
On-the-Go Recording: I can record audio and convert it to text later, making it perfect for capturing important information on the fly.
Instead of focusing on what you already have and know, explore the new opportunities that these features offer.
Ditto. Just wish some of the beta type bugs were ironed out first, likewise the functionality would at least match less sophisticated and established apps/services that the device has chosen to incorporate (language translation, transcribing, directions/locations) etc.
As mentioned here, I bought the rabbit r1, because of the interesting āteach modeā, which will release on the second half of this year.
The one-time price without a subscription was also a main point.
The āteach-modeā will be a highlighted function in this technical world compared to all the other devices, which does not have a learning function and also an āaction modelā to make things automatically.
I am really looking forward to this development and I have the hope, that we all have the possibility to influence this development and create a really helpful AI-assistant together.
I wanted to be an early user of the product and also Iām super excited to see what the future of this brings us! Affordable and no subscriptions are pretty cool too!
Iām excited to work with LAMs, and start building rabbits. The r1 has already made itself greatly useful with OTA 9, and OTA 10ās stability is just a cherry on top. Iām hopeful that by OTA 19 weāll have the r1 everyoneās been wishing for: FULL teach mode, and the ability to make the services we pay for work the way we want them to.
I love gadgets. The R1 seemed like something i would be interested in, and the magic camera is impressive. Iām still learning why i had to have it. I dont know if this is the place to requestā¦shirts and ball caps?
Iām 58 and I might be losing my mind, not quite sure yet
So Iām going to use it to remember and follow up anything that I often would forget.
Over time I hope to teach it to be a full blown PA
I also want to teach it Crypto trading and hand over one of my accounts to see what Rabbit can do.
I bought because I wanted to teach it populate my app so I didnāt have to spend hours upon hours populating it while Iām promoting it just until users are willing to do it for me
I bought the r1 because I 100% believe in itās future. Itās got basically unlimited potential. Also itās orange and once teach mode is available for everyone it might as well change AI forever.
