This is about the sausage! (Easy to use) :idlerabbit:

Especially with Rabbit and r1, ease of use should be the top priority in my opinion, because according to @jesse, this is supposed to be the easiest computer to use and for this reason this point, as well as intuitive usability, should have the highest priority, at least in my opinion. That’s why I actually think that this whole thing with clicking the PTT button 3, 4 or 5 times to achieve something is actually going in the completely wrong direction, because in the end nobody will really remember when and how often you have to press it. Especially when it comes to people with disabilities of any kind. In my opinion, you shouldn’t have to press the PTT button more than twice and everything else should be done by voice. What else is the AI there for if you end up having to press the wolf in the worst case? @rabbit :idlerabbit:

At some point you’ll probably reach the maximum number of times you can press the PTT button before it simply falls out of the device, right?

I agree, I think a top or bottom drawer might work. Swiping from the top or bottom edge of the screen is a well established pattern. (I was thinking the touchscreen should be unlocked and the scroll wheel should only do something with speed or volume of the tts)

This could also be done very easily using just the scroll wheel. Then the touch screen issue would also be off the table.

And that would then develop back in the direction it was originally intended. Just as @jesse imagined it. I mean, you can still please everyone, but you shouldn’t undermine the original idea, as it should be.

What do you think about it? @rabbit

making r1 as intuitive as possible is always on our mind as we try to improve user experience. for example, in our June 6 OTA update, we added using voice to initiate rabbit settings interactions like adjust brightness and volume, change time zones, and access settings page & submenus. our team is also trying to understand the accessibility needs better to make the device more user friendly to people with disabilities.

I think that’s really great! I’m sure that people who now at this point of time don’t know anything about Rabbit or r1 will love you all that for too!
