hi guys, my name is Eric (gingerlion) and im from Friesland (the Netherlands)

lego enthusiast! gamer/retro gamer! and tech enthusiast. in my spare time I like to bike and take walks trough the beautiful nature we have over here.
I bought the rabbit not for its promises! but for the simple fact that I’m a 90s kid who comes from a time where we didn’t have all in one devices (the phone) Music? mp3 player. calling? phone. internet? pc. I mis those days! and I liked what the rabbit r1 offered in that regard! I like to use it for note taking, recording meetings, and ask it quick questions. my little 7 year old also enjoys asking ai questions and I quote, ‘ai never finds it annoying to explain things! no matter how many times I ask’ and I really enjoy seeing him learning by asking questions. I’m looking forward to future updates! and more use cases! I hope everyone enjoys their little orange box!

Chris here, a bassist/composer/producer based in Nashville and (in 2025) Los Angeles. I’ve been having lots of fun discovering my r1’s use cases in my daily life.

So far I’m most enjoying using the device as an informational resource. The ability of the r1 to handle follow-up questions is very impressive. I trust that the Uber/Spotify/DoorDash bugs will get worked out over time.

What is exciting to me in the medium to long term is the potential of “teach mode.” I’d LOVE to get to the point where I can teach the r1 to set up - and perhaps co-engineer - my ProTools sessions for me!

Hi I am G (Gary) here from New Zealand. Unfortunately the R1 isn’t available in my part of the world so I sneaked one in via Blighty.
It looks lovely and when asked what the weather is it got my location correct and gave me an answer. I did expect an ‘I am sorry i am not allowed to talk to you in NewZealand’ response.

Unfortunately my apple music doesn’t work but thankfully found a query explaining that some issues were being addressed.

I am, like some others, an old tech loving sole being of the age of Vic20’s and Z80’s.

What use I will have for the r1? Not sure but it will be fun trying stuff. If only it would connect up to apple music.

Regards

Hi, CJ from the UK. A tech enthusiast and early adopter.

I got my r1 a week ago and i’m loving it for direct conversational information and translation of text. With a new device like this there was always going to be a few bugs so never paid attention to the negative press and the updates are frequent. This thing just gets better and better.

I wouldn’t use it to order cabs or food as I like to shop around. Maybe this will change when more options are available but it’s not important to me right now.

I’m looking forward to the future of the r1.

Hi, I’m BryantR from the USA. Professionally I am the IT services manager for the county library system. I’ve been a computer geek since the early 80’s and find myself to be a gadget fan. I’ve had my R1 for 5 days and am having a lot of fun with it.
I look forward to where it is going and am happy with it. As long as it is being actively developed, I’ll be content with using it.
In my personal life I enjoy video games, flying my drone, and camping (when time permits).

Greetings from no rabbit hole out of Vienna.

Just received the r1. took a while to get it running, but in the end it was a user mistake.

I hope you can proof the bad pr wrong. Looking forward to use the device more intense (especially translation german - slovak to talk to my father-in-law)

Hi everyone,

This is Axel from Spain! I’m a music geek and tech artist, currently working at the Deputation Council in public administration.

In my opinion, devices like the R1 have the potential to significantly enhance productivity. I’m excited about this project and believe the R1 could be a fantastic, simple, and safe alternative to smartphones, especially for children and the elderly. It’s a very family-friendly device with endless possibilities.

Keep up the great work and keep rolling in the free world! :rabbit2::world_map:

Hi everyone,

My name is Saulo, I am Dutch-Brazilian, born in Brazil and living in The Netherlands. I am not in tech, but I love tech. I have served as an army captain and practiced the Law.

In 2019 I found my real passion: government2government relations and public lobby. So lobbying for those who have no voice. Fixing the influence-inequality. I am the owner of PowerBrokers, a lobbying/public affairs/international relations advisory company, representing clients (governments, startups and NGO’s) building government relations and influencing policy in The Hague and Brussels.

I am using r1 as a general companion and work assistant and I love it. Although r1 and rabbitOS isn’t reaching its full potential yet, I am confidant improvements and updates will follow shortly. So much looking forward to future functionality. This is really the start of something great.

I like fitness, wintersports, traveling, tech, space, (geo)politics and people.

Hello, Simon and everyone - nice to see there is a rabbit community going. Early on I emailed the rabbit gang about the initial negative reviews of the rabbit. I got my first Mac in 1984 despite all of the negative press (“A mouse? Useless - I have arrows on my keyboard.” “It’s cute, but not sure about the cartoon pictures - why?” “Way too expensive and doesn’t do much.” Same when I got my first early iPhone (“Only one carrier, almost no usable icons, can’t fold it.” So keep on hopping.
