SIM cards confirmed to work with r1

All these network that are listed at top of screen and here should work with uk sim. Unless the network is limiting hotspots or data on their network sim.

It looks like all major networks should work some networks that piggy back may work. If you have a sim in your phone or tablet try it in the r1 then you will know if that network is ok. Then look for cheap sim. Or if your network is similar to other like in uk such as o2 or Vodafone they should work unless the network is restricted.
The way I do it with mine was I ordered a cheap sim put it into the r1 the sim wasn’t actived but when I went to the networks setting on the r1 the cellular section was highlighted and it allowed me to turn the switch on. So I knew it would work. I then got the sim out of the r1 and put it into a phone to activate it via code sent to phone and sim then took it out of phone and put it in r1 it worked great and still works great. Order free sims to try.

I’ll do just that. A data only SIM. Do you know if its data hungry? Or should a 5-10GB be sufficient on a monthly basis?
I understand this is totally dependant on usage

I installed a SIM card from Tmobile, and it works like magic!

Did you put the sim in a phone first to activate it some networks need to send a code to the sim once that’s done you can put the sim into the r1 and it should work

Hey, my guy,
Actually, no. It was seamless and easy. They installed the SIM card (you must pay for that), and I chose a 10 GB plan. Boom!
I can now use it anywhere; no Wi-Fi is required.
I hope this helps you.

I’m using a Data only plan with SIM with just 2gb for 10$ monthly. I don’t think I need more than that.

yes the sim is already active and I tried it on another device and it works correctly, only on the rabbit r1 it seems not to work, it detects it but no data works when I turn off the wifi connection

That’s odd I know it can take a little time to connect but it should have picked it up within seconds of putting sim in. Have you tried the one from your phone in the r1 some networks lock their sim to a phone.
Did you try turning off the r1 giving it a few second then turn on again with sim in. Or tried the memory clean which is while r1 is on click the button fast about 5x

yes I’ve tried everything and it still doesn’t work

Odd very odd.

I’m using a Mint Sim. Had to call customer service to get it linked on their end. Works tho. Also tried Straight Talk Wireless, but their sim card did not work.

I think that simply my sim operator does not accept automatic APNs and so there is a need for manual configuration for devices not known to the operator

What did you ask for to get the connection from the provider?

I got the sim in the post put it into the r1 and then went to the network saw the cellular network was now hi-lighted and turned off the WiFi to see if cellular would work it didn’t so I went on my phone logged into the network operator website and it wanted me to register the sim and number I did that then it said we will send you a pin to activate the sim once you get the pin put the PIN code into our site on your account and it will be activated you can then top up the SIM card. So I took the sim out the r1 as it can’t receive txt put it in the phone and got the pin put the pin into their website and waited and it then said sim activated. I took sim out of phone put it in the r1 and then went back to my phone and the network website and topped up the sim. It’s worked ever since.

oh ok thank you, tomorrow i think to change the provider with another one that is working for the R1 in Italy
