Hardware issue noticed when drawing some lines on the scroll wheel and letting the wheel “settle” or “rest” on the desk for a few seconds, after which scrolling up or down will initiate some ghost scrolling behavior where I believe the oil in the wheel is finding equilibrium again, and with the latest OTA , is causing ghost scrolling issues, like opening up settings on its own or scrolling up/down seemingly unnoticed since the wheel is high gloss and otherwise very hard to notice but thanks to @TheOneRonG and I doing some testing by adding tape and ink markers on the wheel, it’s much clearer to see that the wheel does scroll on its own.

I wonder what factors might affect this behavior with the oil in the wheel, like environment temperature. I might try and use some tape with some thickness to attach either to the wheel or the walls above and below the wheel to add a little friction to prevent free movement

This is magic! If you make it right in the software, you can also make a feature out of it. Is it actually a feature?

Wow, why does oil in the wheel cause it to scroll on its own? Is it loose? Mine seems pretty stiff.
