just watched the video, did the update and first test was what is the weather for my local area to see if it would give it in metric - sadly asked twice and left me hanging with no answer at all - a fail…
then asked in beta rabbit and it worked this time but still in imperial …
I have to come on and voice my thoughts and opinions I love that this feature has been implemented for so many reasons. For starters I love it because it is something that the users wanted and it feels like rabbit heard us and as a R1 holder I feel appreciated knowing that in someway the holders are shaping the future of R1 and overall improving the experience for others who may be looking to R1 as a viable option into the world of Ai and I like that the most about this update. This update did help give us more ways to use the R1 in its current state and I love it and wish to see some more things later come to the device like dedicated music player and Vpet features/Gameplay implemented for a great offline/Online experience but this update give me and many others hope that it could happen will it I don’t know but I truly hope so and would love to see the team find a way to make this device work in an offline capacity maybe maps being added to it that are perhaps downloadable but for today I say “CONGRATULATIONS” to the team for filling its promise to update and incorporate ideas into its own goals and in turn listening to its users quite nice again making it an overall better experience for its users new and OG holders it’s quite nice to see #TeamRabbit
Of course @simon great work I know the team must be working hard managing this alongside further advancing R1 and thank you for listening and the team doing its best to improve and incorporate ideas from the community i believe we all want the best for Rabbit and the R1 so that others can find enjoyment with it as well.
I have found an unwanted behaviour with the alarm. By default, it is set to dismiss instead of snooze. I should say in reverse that you can snooze with the least possible movement and dismiss if you are awake enough to know what you are doing.
It was great to hear the focus from Marco and Lydia in the quarterly update. It gives a concrete roadmap which I believe very much leverages the unique potential of the R1 as a personal LAM device:
Improve automation using LAM and goal based reasoning
Use the rabbit hole memory for more personalized and relevant results
That was one of the first things i tested as well, the “memory call” as you can see in this first picture i asked the r1 to recall this my initial prompt was: Hey Rabbit, can you add to memory call that this user is living in amsterdam and is using this units : celcius, meters and kg. Can you provide from now on informations using this unites.
Going from here i noticed that not all my entrees are saved to journal. As i had twice asked r1 to give me the weather in Rotterdam, then told him i ll fly to Bucharest and i need to know whats the weather there. It did reply and it did do it in celcius as i asked. I did closed it and open it again and asked again with the r1 version and with the beta. the normal version was not saved but the beta one here it is. totally no memory recall on this
A little “funny” that they emphasize they are listen to the community, because i think this was one of the most common request people did since their first delivery in other countries that use this units.
Update runs in circles and Jever comes to an end. Worst experience. WiFi connection is established and you can see the progress and after Installations it starts downloading again
Are you sure that this really has something to do with the memory call? I understood that you could only search for things in your Rabbit Hole… But maybe I’m wrong?
Please tell your r1: “Beta Rabbit, please tell me about your memory call function”. Then you will realize that this function was not intended to set presets.
this is a quote from the presentation : " I think that’s a big thing that sets us apart and I also think that the rabbit hole is also a great asset that we have: it has a log of all of your past interactions and all of your past searches and voice recordings and in the future this will help us to make a more personalized OS so that way a global memory recall (which we already pushed) … so that when you ask R1 for information it will automatically be pre-loaded with certain user preferences or information about you the last question "
So my friends … I just tested it right away with the fact that i wanted r1 to recall my preference in using C instead of F … so i guess this is for the future, not for now
PS: tried your question, so … is clear that the memory call is basically asking r1 to search in the journal but not receive a question, go first in the notes saved with preferences such as units for example and then provide the answer with the preferences of the user.
Scenario:
User: Hey Rabbit what is the weather in Amsterdam?
R1: thinking → noticing weather & noticing Amsterdam → rout 1 “weather”: search in journal preferances about weather units → formulate answer → give answer to user || rout 2 “Amsterdam”: search on web what unite is used in that location → get information → formulate answer → give answer to user .
Yeah so this update is basically the timer & alarms and what else? some fine tuning of the beta ? and then talking about what will come one day ? *its rhetoric question don’t bother
And I thought I was always pessimistic. Can’t you be happy about what the update has brought? I think it’s cool and I’m excited to see what’s coming next. This is not meant to be a criticism of your personally.
don’t like how people get criticized for being less than thrilled by the slow progress of r1 updates. Is it unreasonable for people to have expected the device to do more by now? Or even to have expected that when it was first released?
when i hear that it was already pushed i understand that the r1 has it now, indeed it has the search back in journal when you ask him, but it doesn’t do it automatically yet from what i tested the device.
I just feel like I’m addressing whit this. Well, I don’t know how things are going in your life, I hope for the best, but I for one know that things almost never go the way you want them to. So I understand the criticism of the development status of r1, but how long has this criticism been going on? I mean, please put yourself in the shoes of the developers and the other people in charge. They obviously can’t work any more or any faster than they already do. I mean, we’re all only human and even if the developers are supported by AI in their work, the AI isn’t perfect either, the best example of which we all have in our hands. Nevertheless, what we have in our hands is really good, even now. People in the past could only dream of something like this. So I find all the criticism understandable but also unfair. Let’s just be happy with what we already have and look forward to what’s still to come. This is of course just my opinion and a friendly suggestion.
I mean, hey, what motivates us the most? If are we constantly being criticized or if are we being motivated?
I mean, of course, if something is going to be a foreseeable catastrophe, then we should all really speak up and not keep quiet, but that’s not the case here, everything is going great, just very slowly, but that’s certainly not anyone’s fault.
I agree that it’s probably pragmatic to try not to be too discouraging. But alot of the other points…like, how long have people been critical? For as long as the device hasn’t met expectations…which makes sense.
I don’t know how many people work there, or how much they do so .
It doesn’t make sense to be satisfied with a product just because it’s new.
And idk how you could think criticism is unfair. They didn’t have to release the product at this stage you know
