rabbitOS release notes

The last update was a cloud update, which means if your r1 works, then it’s up to date.

The software version on your r1 will not change with this type of update.

Great job on this one guys!

Question on this, just out of curiosity why did you go with 9 minutes of snooze? Why not 10 or 5?

My OCD is killing me with 9

stealth edit that we missed in the release notes, now added

  • we’ve replaced the 60s PTT to shutdown to allow for longer queries. you can now shutdown r1 by pressing the PTT button 8x, or use the settings menu.

Yeah I asked this too lol

I’m not sure why this was chosen, I think it’s so that if you set your alarm 10 minutes before you need to be up, you’ll still be up before your deadline even if you snooze :joy:

YES to this!!!

I think Apple does 9 min as well after snooze over scientific research, on android its like 5 minutes or something.

Anyways love this little update and will try replacing my alarms with this for a week

There is actually a history!

Well, I think the nine minutes thing is brilliant, nine is easily divisible by three and three is a good number! In Germany we say “All good things come in threes”. (“Aller guten Dinge sind drei.”)

Excellent OTA. I really appreciate the way you guys are rolling out regular improvements.

I also appreciated the Quarterly Update video. I sincerely hope the influencers who were disappointed with the initial release take the time to give it another shake.

Lastly, I think I’ve seen this mentioned elsewhere, but it would be nice if you can eventually provide a way to postpone the OTA updates if they happen to hit when people are out and about without access to WiFi. I’m growing increasingly fond of pulling out the r1 to ask questions I would have been fumbling around with my phone for before. Today’s update hit while I was driving between appointments and I had to plug into my car for power and hook into the hotspot on my phone for WiFi.

Apparently it has accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetometer, GPS (https://www.howtogeek.com/what-makes-rabbit-r1-different-from-other-ai-assistants/)

Well… maybe it works for timers but not for alarms. When I asked to set the remainder for an appointment, it just made a note instead of setting an alarm. When I set the alarm for a doctor’s appointment for 9o’clockk, it set it for 9 PM. When I asked what time appointments are usually set, it correctly said that it is during daytime hours, but after asking to set the alarm again, based on this knowledge, it set the alarm back to 21:00.
The expected action for reminders of appointments is to propose setting the alarm 10-15 min earlier, and another propose setting the alarm for the time I will have to reach the destination.

I noticed that the Meeting assistant has started working… partially. As it was recording previously, now I can say replay recording. Rabbit answers, “Start playing recording,” but after that, nothing happens.
At least it has a transcription and summary of them, but sometimes, you need to play the recording.

I watched three monthly updates and noticed an “easier QR scanning setup.”
The rabbit replay that could not access the camera; the Beta rabbit tried to scan the QR code with the camera turned off, and when I turned on the camera, it took a picture. After that, it informed me that it could not scan QR codes and suggested using a phone.
