rabbitOS release notes

My rabbit has been offline for a while, but refuses to update. It’s saying update is required but once plugged in it just says checking update for literally hours and nothing happens. So useful!

Hi @59psi welcome to the rabbit community. Have you checked your connection via Wifi? Anyway it looks like you need to open a ticket with support@rabbit.tech - good recovery!

Hi @59psi ,

welcome on board here. :weatherrabbit: :slightly_smiling_face:
In some cases a hard reset could solve this problem by pressing the button for max 60 seconds.

Except for the thing with the loops. I really think the last update was wonderful. I have one more thing to add. Maybe it would also be good if you could start the Rabbit Eye (+Display) directly with 2xPTT without having to press 1xPTT first to activate the display.

me too… I have lots of time right now

update. - the holding down the side button for 60 seconds managed to restart the device… I should have searched before posting :astonished:

Ignore all of what is below.

so… been a way for a few days (start of school and last minute trips)… took my rabbit to Pax West for some great magic cam shots…

that last update could never finish downloading I have stopped trying… and couldn’t quit the process… so am letting the device run out power… Also disconnected from the internet.

support is aware (ticket 58434)

Am I reading that this is now fixed and I should reconnect to the internet try again?

thanks for your continuing hard work on this! Reallly happy to be on this journey!

what were the last update notes - what did they do…

  • had issues doing the update - like others had to let it die / go flat, charge and then update…
  • still does not do weather reports in zone - metric - very frustrating
  • try to play music but won’t stop on command
  • magic freestyle images are not performing great before and after the update

Am finding I am no longer using as can’t do the basics… but would like to see the update notes of what new things there are or maybe I need to ask it in a certain way…

[OTA 3 SEPT]

The serverside updates have polished r1 so well! It is amazing how intelligently r1 can run searches for me. I was able to get all the info I needed on an audio mixing console I’m using without needing to click on a single website. r1’s follow up questions are absolutely brilliant for keeping the conversation where I want it to be, and I trust that my rabbit truly knows what its task is when I use it.

Nice too get it today! Was thinking it would be bundled up with a next bigger OTA. It’s good to not accidentally open up settings anymore.

Is there anything else that was added to the update? Like on the cloud side of things? Or was this more of a UI feature update? Also I’d love to get some hearts if anyone thinks having little stars on the home screen would be cool #GalaxyRabbit or #RabbitUniverse  also can we maybe get a separate volume control for the sound FX that’s not tied to the volume of R1? I love to hear the system clicks and sounds but don’t necessarily like to have R1 speak at max volume

Today’s update is really great!

It’s really good to see that Rabbit is now tackling this extremely important issue of usability much better and I think you can see that it is now on a really good path into the future.

Please keep it up! :weatherrabbit:

Its funny but this has had to be the most exciting update so far for me personally, I was unable to use the r1 without somehow opening settings constantly which was so frustrating i just shelved it and used my phone. I’m thrilled that I can now pickup the r1 and not see the settings screen anymore.

Thank Thanks Thanks

For myself, I place r1 in an inner pocket in a jacket I wear. I enjoy being able to press the PTT button and chat with r1 from the jacket, and have it speak out loud as though it’s part of the jacket. Simply walking though, often triggered settings, and I would have to take r1 out of my pocket to close settings. This new update fixes that, which is fantastic!

Sounds a bit sad that this your most exciting update… but great that this solved such a common problem.
