A single press from the off position doesn’t update the rabbit icon to the “listening” state and looks as if it is not listening.
For me it does sometimes and sometimes doesn’t always a bit unclear why that is the case… sometimes it listens without the ears being up.
Would like to have a bit more feedback on it listening with an optional sound or rumble aswell.
Can concur here.
I have made the same result in many tests, that our rabbit icon does not update in the ‘talk/hear mode’.
Same here. Also sometimes it needs to connect to web first, so that the ppt-pressing and asking directly from sleep-state not always works. I use ist always in the classic way.
@Schlex Yes, i guess it is in a power saving mode? I experience the same. Hope we can get a system where pressing the button means that you are recorded even if it doesn’t have connection it will try to handle your query when you do have connection. Or it might time out and give feedback on it.
Any plans for more audio cues? It seems like standard practice for almost all voice interfaces.
Besides that I think visual cues for thinking, listening, searching, not being able to complete the task, saving a note, and responding in general (etc.)
would also make the concept of the simple rabbit interface more complete and understandable.
Yes, I also think that acoustic feedback would significantly improve the concept of ‘speak-action.’ A signal for ‘turn on,’ ‘turn off,’ ‘calculating a response,’ ‘photo mode,’ and reading out the menu items under ‘settings’ would be most important to me.
It really shouldn’t matter if there is a power saving mode. One, it could still record locally and then send the audio when it connects. Two, it is just switching out the animation when the PPT is held. To me it seems like state management issue regardless of power state. Adding audio cues would also help with accessibility.
Yes! I really hope we get a grand redesign for things like this.
I agree, and the indication that it’s listening could be stronger. It’s very subtle, would appreciate if the rabbit or screen went orange, or maybe a nudge vibration to let me know it’s listening.
Why do the rabbit ears go up when the R1 is connecting and you press the PTT button? Doesn’t that imply that it is listening?
Why does it disconnect so often?
Why is it always disconnected when picking it up after a while?
Shouldn’t things like this get priority over grand features?
