Preference for Wi-Fi over cellular

Perhaps someone has already noticed: When I have both cellular and Wi-Fi activated, does the device prefer to use the available Wi-Fi, or does it stay connected to whichever network was first activated? If I move from indoors to outdoors, it would be good if it automatically switches to cellular. When I come back inside, it should automatically switch to Wi-Fi. Does R1 do that?

That’s how it should be, at least that’s my experience so far.

A normal device that has both cellular and WiFi would normally default to WiFi as it would be stronger when in range and it’s allowed on the network. my r1 has both WiFi and cellular on all the time and it works on which ever it wants without any problem and when I go outside it still works it can’t pick up my WiFi while outside due to the walls being 3 feet thick made of stone. So it automatically uses cellular. As for.being in doors at home the cellular is available but it tends to to go to WiFi. Unless I turn that off on the r1. How do I know because the weather forecast on WiFi is at the other part of the country were the WiFi comes from and the weather with cellular in house is within a town. Unless I specifically tell it to use my home address then it gets it within a street.

Hmm. When I’m near Wi-Fi and first activate Cellular and then Wi-Fi on Rabbit, and then turn off Cellular, the network connection is lost. It seems to me that Rabbit sticks with the connection it initially connected to. So, if I come inside from outside, it would continue to use Cellular. I have to take a closer look at this.
