I have a theoretical question. Let’s say I want to install a different battery with more capacity in my r1. Would that be technically possible?
I mean, are there any things in the software or the rest of the r1’s hardware that could make this impossible or even dangerous?
I mean, of course, something like that would always be at my own risk, but is there perhaps a specific battery (model, type, etc.) that might even be compatible?
But I think that if the responsible developers were to start optimizing of this issue it, it would clash with many expectations of other members of the community regarding the desired functionality.
I’m aware of that, I’m assuming that there were good reasons for installing this exact battery with this exact capacity in r1, but I’d just be interested to know whether you could install a different battery in r1 at your own risk, but one that would still be compatible with the hardware. Although that is obviously not recommended. It’s a shame that there aren’t any nuclear batteries yet, given all the garbage in the environment and all the pollutants we’re all exposed to every day. It wouldn’t make any difference, but you would never have to charge your devices and the batterys would never run out.
somebody has been working on that. they managed to get a larger battery in but couldnt fully close the unit. They had a case on so didnt care about it not fitting exactly. its on the rabbitude discord
