Hi! So sorry I haven’t posted in a long time. Anyways, there are only 6 apps on the Rabbit R1. Why not 800? They clearly said that soon there would be 800. In a video about Marques Brownlee reviewing the R1 he said “It’s like back then you just make and release the product. Now, it’s like you half make the product, release it and send it updates.” But it looks like now Rabbit is finished with the R1. Maybe brighten the future for the R2?
Hi @MikaelRaja ,
the list of apps will always expand from the developer team.
The following picture shows some planned features/apps:
A big focus and in my opinion a ‘must have’ for our rabbits is the planned ‘teach-mode’.
This teach-mode gives us more individuality and the ability to create automatic tasks etc…
Compare to other devices the teach-mode will create our rabbits r1 to a more personal assistent. I am really looking forward to this second half of this year.
I think you’re being a bit critical of the whole thing. Look, today there was a really good update that brought really good features to r1. I think you can really see with every update so far, just like today’s, that a lot of love has gone into it. Apart from that, you should also keep in mind that the @rabbit team isn’t that big. If you take it all together, then what has been achieved so far is a really great achievement. I’m sure that more services will be added very soon, after all, it’s in everyone’s interest. We as users can probably support the great developers who make all this possible for us on our pretty r1 devices, and I think the best way to do that at the moment is:
-
Be patient.
-
Don’t put pressure on yourself and they.
-
Point out errors and, if possible, suggest suitable solutions.
-
Suggest improvements.
-
And the most importent thing, please be patient again.
why do you feel they “abandoned” a product that they just released literally weeks ago and received an update TODAY??
ur also quoting a review video of a product that has since received numerous updates…(i repeat)
I too would love ‘teach - mode’. I often try to guess what I want in an AI device - and Rabbit is helping me clarify that… and I have figured out some things… :).
But I really get creative when I can experiment and tinker with others. I am on the FB group where people post things that they tried… and there is almost a back and forth going on there… They try expand on what someone else did.
But I learned the most when I sat down with my skeptical teenage sons… and told them I got this device… they immediately googled and focused on the negative reviews… and then they tried things to trip the rabbit up… facts, trick questions, even things with no answer. That was SO much fun! I dont think the boys are convinced but I see them reaching for MY rabbit more than I thought they would.
I love the playful one-upping that goes on. ‘teach - mode’ would excite a LOT more people to try new things on their Rabbit. I suspect quite a few on the FB group just dont know what to try to do with their rabbit - and are afraid to ask.
Teach mode can sometimes be a bad thing. Suppose there was an app called “clean up my phone” but it actually breaks your phone. Now imagine someone foolish who has a R1. Also imagine there was an online mode but the foolish guy decides to use teach mode to put it on the R1. Finally, when the foolish guy activates it, his R1 breaks.
I really hope that it will never be possible to install anything on the r1 und that way the idiot would at least be on the safe side.
