Helpful keyboard usage

This is the terminal mode, just tell your r1 to switch on the terminal mode and then hold your r1 exactly as shown in the pictures, with the button pointing downwards.

Hi everyone,

thank you to all of you for sharing your thoughts and keyboard models.
It helps to find the right keyboard model to use our rabbit r1 in a good way in the terminal mode.

Often I use my USB-keyboard with the USB A to USB-C adapter, mentioned in my first post.

Unlikely the suggested bluetooth keyboard model ā€˜Logitech K380ā€™ does not work with my rabbit r1 at the moment.
On my rabbit I can see the bluetooth keyboard and can start a connection.

After some seconds the connection will be interrupted.
In my tests I came to the conclusion, that the keyboard model needs a pairing key, which I have to enter on my rabbit r1. But without an ā€˜pairing maskā€™ this bluetooth model will not connect.

With this result I would like to create with a new topic a new suggestion for an implementation of an ā€˜pairing assistantā€™ or ā€˜pairing maskā€™ to do inputs for bluetooth keys.

Also I would like to do more tests with keyboards, so I will inform you with latest news here.

Terminal Mode can be activated in settings, or by asking r1 to ā€œactivate Terminal Modeā€. Rotating r1 clockwise after it has been enabled will bring up this new interface. A few features have been disabled (such as the meeting assistant), but you can still run research, set timers, and much more.

I find this terminal mode very useful.
You are right @C28, that the terminal mode has not all the functions as the ptt mode.

In the following post, I have created a suggestion to implement all functions for the terminal mode:
> Terminal mode starts tasks like ptt mode

Maybe you can support this too. :weatherrabbit:

In Terminal Mode, after I ask a question the keyboard functionality pivots to the reply and I can scroll through the reply using my up and down arrow keys. Is there a keyboard shortcut to make the prompt field active again? As it is I have to tap the field to prompt again, that seems inefficient.

Hi @Wolf2600 ,

thank you for your post here. :+1::slightly_smiling_face:
I recognized the same bug, so I have created a new post in the ā€˜bug sectionā€™ here:
>>Terminal mode - Tap in again after a prompt

Maybe a bug fix can solve this problem.

We can navigate the rabbit with the arrow keys but is there also a way to push the ptt button with the keyboard? It would be helpful when it is sitting on your desk.

Would also be cool to be able to toggle between terminal and normal mode with the keyboard. (That would mean a horizontal voice / vertical terminal mode aswell?)

(In the settings the enter key does work as the PTT key for example with changing the brightness.)

Esc button for going back?

Did someone try wired usb-c headphones? Would be really great to be able to press the PPT button with them aswell. Just keeping your rabbit in pocket.

(It will probably not work but it would be cool to have support like that) there must be standards for it like with phones.
