This is a list of tricks that the r1 team has specifically trained the r1 to be able to do. Please add any missing tricks to this wiki so we can keep this list up to date! Please read the disclaimer section before editing this wiki.
Disclaimer
This list will not include many of the emergent tricks that the r1 can *also* do, which you’ll find from chatting with it for some time. Emergent tricks include things like running D&D campaigns, playing 20 questions, or creating recipes. Many threads on this forum have these kinds of lists. One of them has been added to the end of this wiki. Let’s get started!
Voice Activated
”…Meeting assistant”
Ask the r1 to launch the meeting assistant, and a new recording interface will appear. Once you end the recording, a summarization of what was said will be saved to the rabbithole.
”Start a translation session between x and y”
with GPT-4o powered language translation, r1 can run conversation translation with over 100 languages. Tip: because it’s using GPT-4o, you don’t always have to stick to real languages. Try “Translate between Gen-Z slang and professional English”
”Look in the rabbit hole for…” (Memory Recall)
Ask r1 to search the rabbit hole for something, and it can recall information from a past conversation, as well as any notes, or meeting assistant summaries saved there.
”Remember that…”
r1 can save information into the rabbit hole in the form of a journal note.
”Set a timer for…”
r1 can set timers not just for a specific time, but for a specific event. Ask r1 to set a timer for the perfect turkey, the amount of time you should spend walking your cat, or any wildly specific use case you can think of. You can also ask r1 a question about how long something takes, and then ask for a timer for that amount of time
”Remember that timer is for…”
If you didn’t tell r1 what your timer was for, or want to change its reason for being set, just tell r1, and it will remember this for the lifetime of the timer. You can tell r1 “remember that timer is for my laundry to finish up,” and then ask it “How long until my laundry’s finished?”
”Set an alarm for…”
r1 can set alarms in the same intelligent way that timers can be set. Try “I’ve got to work on this assignment for the next 3 hours, but I’d really like to get at least 7 hours of sleep. Will you please set an alarm to wake me up so I can meet my sleep goal after I finish working?” Though, you can still ask for a specific time.
[Edit Alarms]
Ask r1 to show you your alarms, and an alarms page will show up, enabling you to delete or edit current alarms.
”Feedback”
Initiate feedback to send to the r1 team. r1 will prompt you to provide feedback after you say this.
”My name is…”
Permanently have r1 remember your name.
”Your name is…”
This one is a little iffy, but most users -myself included- report that the r1 does indeed retain the name you give it after memory resets.
”Set the volume to…”
r1 can change the device’s volume, so you don’t need to enter the settings menu. Additionally, you can tell r1 to be “a bit louder” or “a bit quieter”.
”Set the brightness to…”
r1 can change the device’s brightness, so you don’t need to enter the settings menu. Additionally, you can tell r1 to make the screen “a bit brighter” or “a bit dimmer”.
”Change the time zone to…”
r1 can change the time zone used on the device. Simply ask for EST, CST, MST, etc.
”Activate Bluetooth”
you may be catching on to the trend now, but r1 can alter nearly all of your settings with just voice commands. Bluetooth status can be changed by asking r1 to turn it on or off. If you ask to turn it on, r1 will turn it on, and take you to the Bluetooth screen. If requested off, r1 will just inform you that it’s been turned off.
”Activate WiFi”
r1 can change the status of WiFi. When requested on, r1 will turn on WiFi, and you’ll be taken to the network page of settings. You will not be taken to settings if requested to turn off WiFi.
”Activate Cellular”
r1 can change the status of cellular data. When requested on, r1 will turn on cellular data, and you’ll be taken to the network page of settings. You will not be taken to settings if requested to turn off cellular.
”Activate Terminal Mode”
r1 can change the status of terminal mode, and will not take you to settings regardless of it being turned on or off. You can -of course- also request terminal mode to be turned off.
”Search Yelp for…”
no rabbithole connection required: all r1s have access to yelp, and can request r1 to use it to search for information about restaurants for you.
Vision Activated
Magic camera
Take a photo with the rabbit eye, and do not provide a prompt. A pixel art image inspired from what the r1 saw will be generated in the rabbithole within a minute.
Magic camera freestyle
Prompt r1 to create custom art from the rabbit eye without the need to connect to midjourney. Simply ask r1 to take a photo, and tell it how you’d like it to be altered/ represented.
Spreadsheet creation and editing
Prompt r1 to look at a spreadsheet while showing it it to the rabbit eye, and then ask r1 to edit it in any way you’d like. Additionally, if you can show any written data to r1, you can request r1 to build a spreadsheet from it.
Button/Gesture Activated
[Memory refresh]
Click the push to talk (ptt) button 5 times in quick succession to reset the memory context of your r1. This does not reset your device, but instead deletes conversation context. This is useful when your rabbit is hallucinating.
[Device restart]
Click the push to talk (ptt) button 8 times in quick succession to restart your device. This does not reset your device, but instead forces it to reboot. This is useful if there are any software or firmware glitches such as stuck cameras, audio issues, or visual bugs.
[Settings Page]
Swipe up on the scroll wheel from the home view to bring up the option to open settings. Swipe up again to open it. You can also ask r1 to “Open Settings” by using the ptt button or typing to r1 in terminal mode.
