Conencting to iPhone HotSpot

I assume you talk about the settings of r1… Experiment a bit giving a single shake like maraca with your hand with the device and it will let you access the settings, you can try to ask him to show you the settings letting the button pressed as speaking and it will open the settings as well

I have an iphone 14pro and an iPhone 12. they both connected successfully to R1.

Are you able to reconnect multiple times and does the r1 work? Or did it only connect once or immediately drop the connection once connected? I’ve yet to be able to connect to my hotspot. WiFi works fine.

Yes I was. Did you try resetting your network settings?

I just tested it again and yep. It is connected and staying connected to my iphone 14pro.

Interesting. I’m still having trouble connecting and I’m not there only one. I’m glad you got it working for you tho.

Do u have maximum comparability toggled on on your iPhone by chance? Just troubleshooting. I tried both and still can’t connect. I default to off it matters. Still the image i get 5-10secs after iPhone shows green and a connected device to the hotspot.

I just came from T-Mobile after wasting HOURS watching it NOT connect to my phone’s Hotspot, yet with the phone showing as a network and the rabbit seemingly trying to. The Manager there says that will never connect to a hotspot, at least not T-Mobile’s. This kind of lack of transparency in not providing info AHEAD of time is damaging to the brand, if anyone is listening. Also, I just bought a nanosim card there and a data plan - “only” $20/month…. HEY RABBIT: how about setting a deal with the carriers to give us discounts for getting a data plan? No one thought of this or were you turned down?

I have that in the off position.

Who is your carrier? Just came from T-Mobile and the manager said it won’t on their network.

I am with Verizon. I purchased a 2GB sim from Tello and it set up quickly for $6. And also and unlimited 3 months from Mint Mobile that also worked for $45 for 3 months promo. Usually $75

I also have TMOBILE and an iPhone14Pro and I also have watched the r1 trying to connect to the iPhone hotspot unsuccessfully. In my experience with TMOBILE it seems unlikely that Tmobile would or even could exclude certain devices from connecting. And it seems even more unlikely that a Tmobile store manager would have the technical or r1 product knowledge to make the claim that the r1 would never be able to connect.
Since there appear to be some r1 users who have iphone14pro on Tmobile who can connect, it’s possibly an ios issue. I’m on a beta version of ios 18. For those who have successfully connected to an iPhone Hotspot, could you tell us what ios version you’re on? Also, are there any Android phone users who have successfully connected?

He seemed knowledgeable about the R1 because he has a cousin who was given one by the company, I guess because of his tech background, etc., to use/review. He’s played with it and didn’t think the AI was good: too many errors.

I am on 17.5.1
14 pro

i agree, i doubt he wasn;t just shooting off at the mouth as most mobile carrier managers do. im wondering now if it’s because of iOS 18 beta, which i am also on…

Could be. My daughter is still on 17.5.1, I’ll test with her phone later this week.

So I have an iPhone 14 PM running 18 DB3. I have tried connecting to it w/ or w/o the “maximize…” setting, and it fails.
I also tried connecting to an iPhone 11 running 17.5.1, but that also failed.
However, I can connect to my work phone, which is a Samsung S20FE 5G running Android 13!
To me, this seems like a compatibility issue with R1 and iPhone!

I am running iPhone 12 Pro 17.6 beta 2 and no problem with connection.

I now also have internet service at home but still can’t connect to the T-Mobile HotSpot. It would be nice if SOMEBODY KNOWLEDGEABLE at Rabbit could DEFINITIVELY answer the question about why some people can and some people can’t connect to their T-Mobile hotspot. Knowing that would help me decide whethe I need to spend $20/month for a data plan with T-Mobile. (Could the people who have cheaper data plans and a nanoSiM card please post again which companies?, please?
