Hi,
Suggesting to add a beep or vibration feedback when the rabbit starts listening and the ears perk up.
This because we aren’t always looking at the screen when using the device and this would also help the visually impaired.

Yes please… Haptic feedback would be nice.
It would be good feedback on if the R1 is ‘listening’. It could also be a toggle in the settings to turn it on or off.
I think that’s a very good idea, but in my opinion this signal should not be triggered technically by the software of the device itself, but by the connected Rabbit server that handles the request, which would then also ensure that the request goes not nowhere. I mean, so that the request cannot be lost.
Well, I understand what you mean but it should not lag before you get your feedback on if the rabbit ‘listening’. The recording should be done on the rabbit side and can take as much time as the sever needs, possibly retrying when something went wrong (and atleast giving feedback on it)
That’s true, I already made a suggestion for improvement, but ultimately we in the community don’t really know where the development journey will actually take us. So, just to be on the safe side, I’m making this comment again.
Because a topic like this would be much higher on the list of priorities than many other things, at least for me.
Especially in the case of @rabbit and r1, I think usability should be the top priority, because according to @jesse this is supposed to be the easiest computer to use and for this reason this issue, just like intuitive usability, should have the highest priority, at least in my opinion. That’s why I actually think that this whole thing with clicking the PTT button 3, 4 or 5 times to achieve something is actually going in completely the wrong direction, because in the end no one will really remember when to press it and how many times. Well, that’s actually a topic in itself, although it’s basically part of it too. Especially when it comes to people with disabilities of any kind. I’ve now started better a new topic about it…
This would totally be a great idea. Atleast make it a setting you can toggle!
Imagine rabbit starts listening then you see the animation of the 3 dots… ‘oh it’s thinking!’
Then nothing…
Imagine it being a query of 30+ seconds.
Very bad.
